Description
Summer Stream
This painting shows a forest stream lit by the bright colors of summer. The greens and yellows are layered with touches of red and violet, giving the scene a vibrant, almost pulsating atmosphere. The fragmented brushstrokes suggest sunlight filtering through the trees and water in constant motion.
The work is less about describing nature in detail and more about transmitting the sensation of being inside the forest—immersed in light, warmth, and sound.
Summer Stream is part of Arturo Laime’s Black Forest series, created during his time in Southern Germany. In this body of work, the artist explores the forests as both physical landscapes and inner spaces, combining personal experience with a broader reflection on the importance of protecting natural environments.
This painting was featured on the artist’s Solo Show “Hiden treasures: Black Forest through Latin American eyes” at Altes Rathaus in Gernsbach, Germany, in 2021.
